Our ‘Pre Phonics’ Preparation Programme, designed for Early Years settings or as an intervention for primary pupils.
We are thrilled to introduce our “Rainbow Phase” product, our Pip and Pap ‘Pre Phonics’ Preparation Programme, designed for Early Years settings or as an intervention for primary pupils requiring support with their phonological and phonemic awareness skills.
The Rainbow Phase programme of study is based upon Letters & Sounds (2007) Phase 1.
We have split the different foci of learning into six different areas, known as our pre-phonics principles. Each is represented by a colour.
All six areas are focused upon within the scheme, with the aim of enabling children to gain a good grounding of phonological and phonemic awareness skills.
Our Rainbow Phase programme is led through 20 bespoke Pip and Pap picture books, designed to stimulate talk and help develop oracy skills. Pip and Pap feature in all of the stories, navigating planet Earth as they adventure and learn more about the world around them! All stories feature real life locations captured through photographs, to enable children to make links with their every day experiences.
Our online interactive books come complete with sound effects and linked songs that play when children press the music symbols on screen.
Our 20 bespoke books, linked to EYFS topics, are available electronically through our website, as part of a yearly subscription priced at just £99. Our electronic stories come with a range of linked sound effects to accompany the reading experience, that can be pressed by children when used on a tablet or interactive whiteboard. Additionally, access to our online platform gives full access to a range of linked nursery rhymes (some traditional, some Pip and Pap themed!) and original songs that have been recorded by a children’s choir. A range of downloadable games linked to rhyming, alliteration and musical instruments are also hosted upon the platform.
Each book contains a practitioner script to read to the children, as well as a range of linked activities, matched to the EYFS framework and areas of learning.
Our books are also available to purchase in an ‘A-Frame’ style, to be used as part of teaching or story-telling time. Within these books, the images can face the children, and the text faces the practitioner. The books can also be used to showcase Pip and Pap in different scenarios, which can be used as stimuli in different play activities. Each A3 A-Frame book is priced at £10.
